Take Your Partner

Take Your Partner was a small project that was set up to find different ways to engage emergent adult readers. It was aimed at adults who do not read or read infrequently but would like to read more. It also attempted to create increased demand for reading materials and opportunities to read for pleasure by developing good practice.

Ten groups of adults in Oldham and Kirklees contributed to the project, working with adult and family learning tutors, who collaborated with libraries to help learners to discover the joys of books in new ways.

Here you will find detailed descriptions of ten different groups of adults in Oldham and Kirklees and what happened when they were encouraged to read more and to support their children with reading.

Each project was given a blank Case Study template, blank Learner Responses template and a blank Learner Voice template to use. Feel free to download them to use for your own project.
